    Students can transfer between Computer Science and Computer Science with Software Development in the first year of study.

    Year one

    In year one, you’ll lay the foundation for your journey in Computer Science. You’ll explore core areas like Foundations of Computer Science, Data Structures and Algorithms, and Object-Oriented Programming, while exploring fundamental concepts in programming, AI, and software design. With the flexibility to choose optional modules such as Introduction to Programming or Programming Language Paradigms, you can align your interests with your career goals.

    By the end of year one, you’ll be confident in your ability to design software, understand complex systems, and approach computing challenges with creativity and logic.

    Year two

    Year two focuses on turning your programming knowledge into practical, real-world skills. You’ll study essential subjects such as Software Engineering, Database Development, and Software Development Tools while exploring core concepts in building and managing complex software systems. You get to personalise your learning journey by choosing from a range of optional modules, some of which include App Development, Advanced AI, C-Based Programming, and Cybersecurity. 

    This year prepares you to apply your skills to real projects, specialise in areas that inspire you, and gain the confidence to take on more advanced computing challenges in the years ahead.

    This selection of compulsory and optional modules provides a pathway to develop specific expertise in Software Development, whilst also exploring other key areas of Computer Science.

    Fees and funding

    Annual tuition fees*

    Tuition fees cover the cost of your teaching and assessment, operating facilities such as libraries, IT equipment, and access to academic and personal support.

    Admission fees are a one-time charge collected to process a student’s application and secure their place at the university.

    Scholarships

    Entry requirements

    Applicants must fulfil the following criteria to be eligible for the Computer Science with Software Development BSc programme at the University of Liverpool, Bengaluru.

    Eligibility criteria

    • Indian Boards: Applicants must have completed Class XII (CBSE/ISC/State Boards/Cambridge A Level) with a minimum 75% average across four core subjects, with at least 75% in Mathematics at Class X
    • International Baccalaureate (IB): Applicants must have a minimum of 32 points overall, with no score below 4. This must include at least grade 5 in HL Maths or HL Computer Science. For English, grade 4 SL/HL is required for English A, or 6 HL / 5 SL for English B For Mathematics AA/AI, grade 5 HL or SL is required. Mathematical Studies is not accepted Alternatively, applicants may pass the IB with scores of 6, 5, 5 in three HL subjects, including HL Mathematics or HL Computer Science
    • A-levels (UK/Cambridge A Level): Applicants must have a minimum of ABB with Mathematics or Computer Science, and at least a GCSE Mathematics grade C/4 and a GCSE English grade C/4
    • Other countries: You can find details about specific equivalences on the relevant programme page for our Liverpool campus.

    English language

    Applicants must demonstrate proficiency in English. This can be met through one of the following:

    • Standard XII English: Minimum 70% from CBSE, CISCE, Cambridge A Level or State Boards
    • International Baccalaureate (IB): Minimum Grade 5 in English A (SL/HL) or minimum Grade 7 (SL) and Grade 6 (HL) in English B
    • Cambridge IGCSE: Minimum Grade C/4 in English (First Language) or minimum Grade B/6 in English (Second Language).

    In some cases, and depending on the overall university requirement, applicants may be asked to provide a recognised English language test such as IELTS or TOEFL in addition to school-level qualifications.

    Predicted grades (provisional criteria)

    Students who have not yet received their final Class XII results may still apply. In such cases, Class XI or Pre-Board scores can be considered for a conditional offer.

    Statement of purpose (SOP) / Personal statement

    All applicants are required to submit a Statement of Purpose / Personal Statement as part of their application.
