Every module is taught by expert faculty who are active researchers in computer science, ensuring your learning is informed by the latest technological advancements.

    Whether you have studied Computer Science at Undergraduate level, or you are transitioning into the tech industry from a related field, by the end of the programme, you’ll be ready to pursue advanced roles in software development, data analytics, artificial intelligence, and technology consulting, or continue into doctoral research.

    The MSc Computer Science at the University of Liverpool (UK campus) is accredited by BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT, the leading computing and information technology professional body. The programme is regularly reviewed and updated to reflect emerging technologies, research developments, and industry trends.

    While the Bengaluru campus follows the same curriculum design, academic rigour, and assessment standards as the Liverpool (UK) programme, these professional accreditations currently apply only to the UK campus.

    This 12-month programme combines five core and four optional modules, concluding with a 60-credit dissertation project completed during the summer term. Each semester builds progressively, from establishing programming and analytical fundamentals to advanced specialisation in machine learning, data systems, and dependability.

    Fees and funding

    The MSc Computer Science programme at the University of Liverpool, Bengaluru, provides a transparent and flexible fee structure, ensuring students can plan their finances with clarity.

    Tuition fees cover instruction, supervision, access to digital learning platforms, laboratories, computing infrastructure, and academic resources such as libraries and software facilities.

    Admission fees are a one-time charge collected to process a student’s application and secure their place at the university.

    Scholarships

    We offer a range of scholarships and bursaries to support talented postgraduate students from every background. A variety of scholarships and bursaries will be available to eligible students.     Entry requirements

    Applicants must fulfil the following criteria to be eligible for the Computer Science MSc programme at the University of Liverpool, Bengaluru.

    Eligibility criteria

    • Academic qualification: A bachelor’s degree with a minimum overall grade of 55%, or equivalent as per institutional grading standards
    • Acceptable backgrounds: Applicants should hold a bachelor’s degree in computer science or a science or engineering discipline. Acceptable subjects include computer science, chemistry, physics, mathematics, geography, engineering, medicine, neuroscience, psychology and life sciences.
    • Non-eligible subjects: Degrees biology, economics, nautical science, or political science are not considered suitable for this programme
    • Work experience: Relevant professional or research experience may be taken into account
    • Provisional applicants: Students currently completing their undergraduate studies may apply and receive a conditional offer, subject to meeting final academic requirements
    • Application documents: A completed application form, academic transcripts, and supporting qualifications must be submitted
    • International applicants: For country-specific eligibility, visit the University of Liverpool website.

    English language

    Applicants must demonstrate proficiency in English. This can be met through one of the following:

    • Standard XII English: Minimum 75% from CBSE, CISCE or Cambridge A Level
    • International Baccalaureate (IB): Minimum Grade 5 in English A (SL/HL) or minimum Grade 7 (SL) and Grade 6 (HL) in English B
    • Cambridge IGCSE: Minimum Grade C/4 in English (First Language) or minimum Grade B/6 in English (Second Language).

    Sometimes, candidates may be asked to provide an approved English proficiency score, such as IELTS or TOEFL, depending on their academic background.

    Predicted grades (provisional criteria)

    Students who have not yet received their final Bachelor’s degree results may still apply and be considered for a conditional offer.

    Statement of purpose (SOP) / Personal statement

    Every applicant must submit a statement of purpose or a personal statement outlining their academic goals, professional aspirations, and motivation for pursuing this programme.
